Hello! My name is Vicki, the artist behind Loulabelle. The name was inspired by my daughter’s names, Anabelle, and Elouise, and most of my work centres around them. It could be a memory, a moment, or a feeling, but one way or another the animals I paint or the places I visit all have a story to them that often links my daughters.
UK wildlife, garden birds and the love of the sea are at the centre of my work with watercolour as my favourite medium. I dabble in lino printing because I love the vibrant colours and enjoy creating digital art to create vibrant prints for the home. I’m a bit of an all-rounder, being able to turn my hand to charcoal and acrylics too.
My moments with our native wildlife, inspire me to paint, but it is also the joy nature brings to others that prompts me to put brush to paper. I love seeing the smiles and listening to stories about how wildlife makes them happy.
I exhibit at the Pier Road Gallery, BN5 and the Studio at the Lido, as well as support Independent Worthing at their monthly markets. I have over 10 years of experience in retail and shopper analytics, which helps me to understand my customer base to ensure I push myself to stay relevant.
I hope you love my work and can see a story in my art the way that I do.
