Dorset born now living in Worthing, Lorraine’s greatest love is to be out at dawn chasing the mist; her body of work reflects her passion.
She says her love of being out early is deeply rooted in the times she spent out walking with her grandfather from her earliest years. Lorraine first picked up a camera when she was fifteen, but had a career in hospitality until moving to Worthing in 1994. Many walks along Worthing beach rekindled her love with the camera and in 2009 Lorraine purchased her first DSLR, a Canon 50d and started to teach herself how to capture the beauty she sees.
Lorraine is an active member of the arts community in Worthing and shares the ‘Seasons’ gallery on Worthing seafront alongside other artists of East Beach Studios Art Collective.
Lorraine recently won the South Downs National Park 2018 – 19 photographic competition on the theme, ‘Perfectly Seasoned’, with her image Autumn Gold and was also a finalist in Outdoor Photographer of the Year 2018 with her image ‘Under the Pier’. Lorraine is very proud of these recent accolades as the locations are not only close to home but close to her heart too.
