Andrew Harris

I’m a professional contemporary fine artist based in West Sussex. My current focus is on British wildlife, using hyper-realism but, with a modern abstract twist, combining traditional techniques with modern materials and mediums. Through my latest collection entitled “Imperilled”, I strive to capture both the beauty and the vulnerability of our wildlife, whilst also highlighting the fragility of already depleted native species and the environment in which they live. My work is an exploration of the relationship between British wildlife and the human condition, to create art that is unique and mesmerizing. I’m passionate about the conservation of British wildlife and continually strive to impart the conservation message through my works.

I have been painting for about 30years in a completely different subject field and have successfully exhibited and sold work widely. I currently receive commissions from all over the world, including from a number of prestigious organisations. My art also features on a number of commercial products and in 2019 I was fortunate to be invited to design three commemorative 50p coins, which were subsequently pressed and went into circulation.

I have recently embarked upon a new venture, combining my love of wildlife with my passion for conservation, which has resulted in my new collection “Imperilled”.

My work is primarily in oil and drawing in graphite but, also enjoy watercolour and linocut. More recently I have started to experiment with acrylics
