Joe Krarup

About

Joe Krarup is a self taught artist specialising in portraiture. I’ve had no formal teaching as an artist but have always enjoyed drawing and have a natural talent for it.

I drew from a young age but stopped for 40 years only to start scetching again during the pandemic. It was then that I realised I still had that natural talent and passion for drawing. I took a course in life drawing and some online portrait drawing classes to brush up on my technique and learn about other mediums to use in my work.

I love drawing iconic personalities from sports, music and film. I’m a keen boxing fan and have drawn many boxing images in recent years.

I am now proud to be able to call myself a professional portrait artist having done many private commissions. I’ve also exhibited in various art cafés in West Sussex.

Medium and technique

Drawing using graphite pencils and Polychromo watercolour pencils on Canson Graduate paper.
