Val Chandler
About
Val Chandler has exhibited for many years in local exhibitions and is a member of the Association of Sussex Artists. Having lived on the coast all her life – including over 50 years in Shoreham – Val finds water, the Downs and coastal landscapes to be constant sources of inspiration.
Medium and technique
Val started to paint at art classes about 25 years ago, beginning with watercolour on paper, but now tends to use canvas as a base, and applies a lot of texture in her work, experimenting with mixed media and special effects in addition to watercolour paints.
What to expect
For the Art Above exhibition, Val is exhibiting works typical of her current approach – mixed media on canvas, featuring impressionistic scenes from her local area.
