Teresa Clements Screenprints

I am a printmaker constantly influenced by the Sussex Coastline.

Using my own original photographs interpreted into hand-pulled screenprints through the technique of posterisation.

Screenprinting allows me to experiment with transparent colour bases and tonal separations. Acrylic ink is pulled through numerous exposed silkscreens building up multiple layers and overprinting to create the final artwork. The joy of printmaking is all about the process for me!

The mixing and blending colour and metallic ink on screens adds a freeness, resulting in variations in every print, making every one unique and special.

Teresa (TC) is an artist currently living on the banks of the River Arun in Arundel, a lover of the Sussex Coast since moving to Brighton 27 years ago. She has always been attracted to the shoreline, the big skies and architecture of the area.
Having studied Ceramics at North East Wales Institute of Art and Design in the early 90’s she has spent more recent years exploring a personal passion for photography and screen printing, enjoying as much time as possible in the print studio ‘Ink Spot Press’ in Hove. As well as natural form, she enjoys observing architecture trying to capture the essence of structure and form. Strong and bold use of colour is evidenced in all her work, a love of water and its relationship to light and movement comes through in the prints she creates.
She has exhibited at East Beach Studios Gallery in Worthing and Beach Road Gallery/Pier Road Coffee and Art in Littlehampton in 2021.
