Local printmaker Marta Jim brings back her popular Sun Prints workshops! She will show you how to create impressive sun prints from start to finish using ordinary objects and sunlight. This workshop is designed for the complete beginner.
You will take home your beautiful cyanotype prints – perfect as gifts or for yourself.
You will learn an old photographic printing process called cyanotype, which uses a combination of chemicals and UV light or sun exposure to produce distinctive blue images. These will be achieved using organic shapes and objects such as flowers, leaves or paper.
You will be moving from indoors to outdoors throughout the session (although this will depend on the weather), which involves stairs.
This is a quick and easy process and, with a few top tips, you will be able to produce your own sun prints at home.
Everything you need is provided. Please note that the chemicals we will use are not toxic but may stain your clothes – do suitable clothes or an apron. Refreshments provided.
