Pottery Workshop Making Decorative Hangings, Coasters or Tiles
Event Date:
27/03/2024
Event Time:
10:30 am
Event Location:
Montague Gallery
This is an exciting 2 day workshop. 2 x 2 hour sessions but 3 weeks apart to allow for your pottery to dry and be fired in the kiln.
Previous attendees have commented they’d love to do the painting and the whole process, so NEW to 2024, I thought I’d run these 2 session workshops as well as my previous workshops.
For the first session (Wednesday 27th March 10.30-12.30) will be the making session where you will create 4 personalised decorations, coasters or tiles, using plants, fabrics and letter stamps. You will also get to make a trinket dish. Also, feel free to bring any plants from your garden to make your pottery even more personal!
We will stop for a little break and refreshments then afterwards look at the glazing and painting methods and you will glaze a pre-fired trinket bowl.
The 2nd session (Wednesday 17th April 10.30-12.30) You’ll be able to paint all of your pottery that will have had a bisc firing. You will also use the transparent glaze if you want a shiny effect.
I will then take away your pottery, fire it in my kiln one last time and return it to Montague gallery a week later for you to collect.
