28/03/2024
Event Time:
10:30 am
Event Location:
Montague Gallery
A fun weekly class for home educated children aged 7 – 12 years, who love to paint, draw and make things.
Each session Artist and Teacher Michelle Dawson will introduce a new material or technique. The children will experiment with that technique before using it to create their own piece of Art. We will consider the work of a variety of Artists and embrace the fact that we are all Artists who develop ideas in our own unique, individual ways.
In this session we will consider the Japanese design concept of Notan, which is about the harmony between light and dark elements within a picture. The children will experiment with creating striking images from black and white card.
About the teacher; Michelle trained as a Secondary School Art Teacher at The University of Brighton and has taught a range of ages from Infant school children to adults. She now runs Art clubs at Thomas A’ Becket Infant School and teaches adult Art workshops at Montague Gallery alongside making and exhibiting her own paintings.
