Sunday Sketchers – Pencil Tonal Drawing

At February’s Sunday Sketchers class we will be focussing on tonal drawing in pencil. There will be lots of seaside objects such as shells, seaweed and pebbles to provide inspiration. Artist Michelle Dawson will demonstrate how to build up tone and texture to depict the form and surface of these objects. Then choose to draw one shell or a whole seaside still life.
Bring a pencil (ideally 2B, 3B or 4B) and a sketchbook or cartridge paper, at least A4 size.

How many people are in each workshop?
There is a maximum of 10 people per course.
The workshop I am interested in is sold out; do you have a waiting list?
You can be added to the waiting list if you cannot attend, or the course is sold out.
I have paid for a place in a workshop but am now unable to come. Is it possible to have a refund?
We can only give refunds in exceptional circumstances. We will however offer an alternative date or course.
Are refreshments provided?
We will take a short break for tea and biscuits for refreshments
I'm left-handed, can I still join in?
Yes, that will not cause any problems.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, all materials and tools are provided.
I'm not artistic can I still join?
Yes, absolutely everyone is welcome!
Do I need to wear special clothing?
Be sure to wear clothes that won't matter getting a bit dirty!
