I mostly paint oil landscapes from my imagination, combining elements from both home and abroad, from rocky shores to pastural scenes. I love working in oils for the vibrancy of the colours and the slow drying times of the medium enabling me to return again and again to the same painting. Taking a break can often allow you to see where improvements can be made to the still pliable paint.
Biography: I have had no formal training as an artist and only since my recent retirement have taken to it seriously. Life gets in the way doesn’t it.

I have instead embraced Youtube as a wonderful teaching aid and just gone for it, taking inspiration from the likes of Stuart Davies with his (anyone can do this videos) and Tim Gagnon both very different artists.
