Ruth Knight Ceramics

4th November - 30th November

I make one off pieces and small collections, all inspired by texture, weathering, place and belonging. I throw my work on the wheel and then manipulate it with my hands, with objects found from places that are special to me, and with glazes that replicate weathered stone and lichen. I love how pots can hold so much, be strong and bold, but also so fragile.

My ceramics journey started 4 years ago but it is only in the last year that I feel I have found my voice. I moved from the Kiln Rooms in South East London, to Eastbourne Studio Pottery in January 2023, and have recently moved into a shared studio space in Kemptown. I have been lucky enough to partake in workshops with potters such as Tania Gomez and Jennie Lathbury, and try to learn from every potter I meet.
