Montague Gallery Summer Exhibition 2026

"A Celebration of Creativity"

Montague Gallery invites submissions for the Montague Gallery Summer Exhibition 2026, an open-call exhibition celebrating creativity across a wide range of artistic disciplines.

Artists and makers working in all styles and media are encouraged to apply.

The exhibition reflects Montague Gallery’s ethos of diversity and artistic exploration, welcoming both emerging and established artists.

Selected works will be exhibited at Montague Gallery, 28 Portland Road, Worthing, alongside work by the gallery’s resident artists.

Artists and makers aged 16 or over are welcome to submit work.
Submissions are welcomed from both emerging and established artists.

Submissions are welcomed in a wide range of disciplines including:
● Painting
● Drawing
● Printmaking
● Photography
● Sculpture
● Ceramics
● Textiles
● Mixed Media
● Contemporary Craft
● Glass artwork

All work must be original artwork created by the submitting artist .
No Digital print reproductions will be accepted.

Image Guidelines

Submitted images should:
● Be clear and well lit
● Accurately represent the artwork
● Be cropped to the artwork where possible
● Be submitted as JPEG files

Works that differ significantly from the submitted image may not be exhibited.

Each image must have your name J.Smith size Title Price attached
No changes of price or title permitted after submission.

Artwork Requirements

All shortlisted works must:
● Match the submitted image
● Be suitably framed or finished
● Include appropriate hanging fixtures
● No damaged frames

Wall-mounted works should use D-rings and cord.
Maximum recommended size:  85 cm on the longest side.

Entries will be submitted online via the Montague Gallery website link.

Artists will upload images of their artwork for first-round online selection.

An in house judging panel will review all submissions and select works to proceed to the next stage.

Shortlisted artists will be invited to deliver the physical artwork to the gallery for final selection.

Entry Limits
Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration. ( 6 for small 3D see below)

Each artwork must be submitted separately.

Sales & Commission

All exhibited work must be for sale. Montague Gallery takes 25% commission on all sales

2D Wall hanging artworks
Artists may submit up to 3 artworks @ £10 per piece. Max size = 85cm (including frame if applicable on the longest side.

3D Artists may submit up to 3 larger floor or plinth standing works @£10 each
Or
A group of up to 6 smaller shelf pieces ie Ceramics, glass etc no larger than 20cm @ £5each or 6 for £25

Entry fees are non-refundable.

There will be prizes and awards totalling over £500 to be won including Jackson Art Material Vouchers and valuable exhibiting opportunities as Montague Gallery Guest Artist and Spotlight window spots.

Judging Criteria
The judging panel is made up of over 40 in-house artists and makers plus external judges in all disciplines following a strict judging check list
To ensure a fair, representative range to exhibit on the basis of impact quality and variety.
