My Glass is firstly sketched & coloured with pencils. I work from the sketches to cut , layer & build up compatible coloured glass sheets, crushed ,powdered & glass rods(stringers) to create my piece. The piece will then be fired between 640c-804c for up to 36 hours ,depending on the thickness of the glass & sometimes on numerous firings for the build up & then possibly slumping to a shape , until the piece is at the desired effect of what I’m wanting to achieve.

I’m a local Worthing Glass artist, who has been working with traditional leaded, stained & fused glass for the past 17 Years.
I am a retired trained chef & restauranteur. I now love experimenting with different techniques using glass . I often find ingredients in my kitchen such as foil, bicarbonate soda & include it in my fused glass. I love the fact that I never know how it will turn out, a bit like cooking with glass!

I make a selection of glass pictures, window hangings, small sculptures, clocks, & lots of seaside features such as my colourful beach panels, beach huts, sailing boats & fish. I get a lot of my inspiration from walks by the beach & countryside. I also work with recycled glass & make flattened bottle clocks & I am happy to make to order, a perfect gift for a bride & groom from their wedding bottle to keep as a keepsake, along with many other ideas.

I also teach beginners glass classes in my garden workshop in central Worthing & offer gift vouchers, so a perfect gift for someone to have a creative experience & to take a beautiful piece of glass away that they have designed & made themselves. I love teaching & cannot wait to open my kiln & see the creations made, by myself or others.!

I feel it’s important in our busy lives for everyone to take time out whether it be art, dance, singing or being creative in any form. When I take myself down to my workshop & create a piece, it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like my sanctuary & is very therapeutic. It takes the strain out of my life & everybody needs that!! My motto is “Take time out for yourself”

I have exhibited at the following:
