Event Time:

Event Location:

“As some may know, I make lampshades with linocut block printed fabric. This session will be an introduction to the two parts of this process.
a) Designing and cutting a linocut block, with an introduction to simple repeat patterns; and b) Inking the block and printing on to a small section of fabric.
You can design your own block! I will of course have some examples of printing blocks and fabric designs and a lampshade or two but if you have anything particular in mind for your design please bring it along. The blocks we will be using are 7.5cm x 7.5cm so if you have something in mind it’s ideal to make it this size.
You will take home your own small linocut printing block and some printed cotton fabric.
We will be using water-based screen-printing ink. Please bring an apron and be sure to wear clothes that won’t matter if they get a bit dirty!
This is a very quick introduction to a fascinating topic which can lead you in all sorts of directions – I will also give details of my suppliers and suggestions of what to do and where to go next!”
Please bring your booking confirmation to the workshop.
