Event Time:
10:30 am
Event Location:

This one-day workshop will introduce beginners to working with acrylic paint, although those with some previous experience are also welcome. The session will begin with colour mixing using primary colours to create secondary and tertiary colours, shades and tones, and an explanation of the properties of warm, cool, and complementary colours. There will be an opportunity to try working with acrylic medium, and different painting techniques such as impasto.
The second part of the day will cover basic rules and guidelines for a successful composition, making initial sketches, culminating in a painting on canvas working from direct observation of a simple still-life. There will be tutor demonstrations at each stage of the day, as well as practical assistance and individualised advice as required.
The workshop is led by Colleen Conti who is a successful landscape artist with 38 years’ experience in Art Education and leadership, extensive knowledge of Art History and skill in a wide range of materials, processes, and techniques.
