Repurposed Relics with artist Leigh-Anna Barber Corbett
Duration: 2 hours
Dive into the art of assemblage in this captivating workshop, where you’ll transform forgotten treasures into a unique, visually rich “Sacred Heart” wall hanging or brooch. Inspired by the intricate designs and symbolic elements seen in the examples, you’ll create a truly personal piece from repurposed jewelry and found objects.
In this hands-on class, you will learn to:
• Curate & Combine: Select and arrange a variety of repurposed jewellery components to build a composition on a heart-shaped base.
• Layering & Dimension: Develop a multi-layered design that creates depth and visual interest, turning flat objects into a sculptural piece.
• Secure Adhesion: Master techniques for securely attaching various materials to your base, ensuring your finished artwork is durable.
Participants will leave with: A completed, one-of-a-kind “Sacred Heart” assemblage artwork, along with the skills to continue exploring this exciting art form with repurposed materials at home.
All bases and a selection of components will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own small, sentimental pieces of broken jewellery or interesting trinkets to incorporate!
