During one of the coldest months of the year come and warm up at Montague Gallery by painting some red hot chillies!
Artist Michelle Dawson will demonstrate the stages she follows to make a chilli painting, starting by making an observational drawing of a chilli. There will be time to practice mixing just the right shade of red and green and then we will experiment with wet in wet watercolour and layering washes.
Then you can choose a chilli to study and draw and complete your own painting.

How many people are in each workshop?
There is a maximum of 10 people per course.
The workshop I am interested in is sold out; do you have a waiting list?
You can be added to the waiting list if you cannot attend, or the course is sold out.
I have paid for a place in a workshop but am now unable to come. Is it possible to have a refund?
We can only give refunds in exceptional circumstances. We will however offer an alternative date or course.
Are refreshments provided?
We will take a short break for tea and biscuits for refreshments
I'm left-handed, can I still join in?
Yes, that will not cause any problems.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, all materials and tools are provided.
I'm not artistic can I still join?
Yes, absolutely everyone is welcome!
Do I need to wear special clothing?
Be sure to wear clothes that won't matter getting a bit dirty!
