Join Artist Michelle Dawson to celebrate the seasonal holly leaf. Michelle will demonstrate how to use different shades of green watercolour wet in wet to depict the colour and shine on the leaves.
She will then explain how highlights can be added using the lifting off technique as well as demonstrating how to achieve a spherical look to the berries.
There will be time to practice these techniques before choosing a sprig of holly to work from.
Working from direct observation you will then make a watercolour holly painting of your own to take home.

How many people are in each workshop?
There is a maximum of 10 people per course.
The workshop I am interested in is sold out; do you have a waiting list?
You can be added to the waiting list if you cannot attend, or the course is sold out.
I have paid for a place in a workshop but am now unable to come. Is it possible to have a refund or a transfer?
If you are unable to attend a booked course you may be able to transfer to a new date if at least 14 days notice is given in writing by email to workshop@montaguegallery.co.uk However any cancellation with less than 48 hours notice is non-refundable and non transferrable.
Are refreshments provided?
We will take a short break for tea and biscuits for refreshments
I'm left-handed, can I still join in?
Yes, that will not cause any problems.
Do I need to bring anything?
No, all materials and tools are provided.
I'm not artistic can I still join?
Yes, absolutely everyone is welcome!
Do I need to wear special clothing?
Be sure to wear clothes that won't matter getting a bit dirty!
